Special Thanks
We would like to extend our heartfelt thanks to Deb Kitko at the Wayne County Public Library, Denise Monbarren in Wooster Special Collections, Andrew Dix of the Wooster Daily Record, Michael Shearer at the Akron Beacon Journal, Harry McClarren, and the staff at Ohio History Connection. Without them, this exhibit would not have been possible. Thank you for all the support, be it through emails, phone calls, or glitchy Zoom meetings.
About
Our team has worked remotely over the last seven weeks gathering information and scanning hundreds of pages of newspapers. Thanks to the digitization efforts of the Wayne County Public Library, we were able to readily and remotely access thousands of pages of nineteenth century newspapers from Wooster and Wayne County, which formed the basis of this exhibit. We were aided by many experts whose knowledge of Wooster, Wayne County, and the various newspapers of the area supplied us with much needed expertise. For the complete bibliography, click here.
